Otium Planning Group has joined forces with Western Sydney University (WSU) to offer students a chance to gain experience through professional internships. The placements provide students with an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills acquired through their course and apply them in a practical setting.
Otium NSW staff Brad Billett and Yvette Audet are WSU alumni, and are excited to provide support to the next generation of students in preparation of their future employment opportunities.
Associate Brad Billett said, “It is a great chance for the students to gain insights and hands-on experience across a range of projects in the sport and leisure industry”.
The NSW office has taken on board three interns for this semester – Damon Glavas, Sudeepta Tarafder and Ryan Quail.
Senior Lecturer for Sports Management at WSU, Dr Michelle O’Shea, says “It is great to see the students’ growth with the given tasks. It gives them an opportunity to experience planning perspectives for sport and recreation and learn the concepts that help lay the foundations of sport infrastructure development. We look forward to our ongoing relationship with Otium Planning Group”.
