Otium Planning Group was delighted to receive the Research Project Award at the recent Parks and Leisure Australia NSW/ACT 2024 regional conference.
The project was the Review of Supply and Demand for Sport Facilities across the Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC). Developed in partnership with NSROC and its member councils, the research study provided an evidence-based approach to analysing demand for sporting infrastructure across the eight NSROC Local Government Areas. Our work quantified the current and forecast space deficit for sports provision and provided a range of opportunities to address the shortfall. Importantly, the review also suggests future innovations that will need to be considered in order to address an increasing gap between the supply and demand of sports infrastructure.
