Otium Planning Group has been appointed by the Latrobe City Council to undertake feasibility studies for two major projects that are part of the $85 million Latrobe Valley Sports and Community Initiative.
The Latrobe Valley Sports and Community Initiative is an $85 million investment from the Victorian Government to upgrade key local infrastructure and attract major sporting events and programs to the region. The initiative seeks to build on the region’s existing strength in the sporting area and drive continued growth through the development of new links with elite clubs and competitions.
The project aims to build local capacity, reduce disadvantage and barriers to participation, improve health and social outcomes for the area, boost the visitor economy and foster regional pride through major events.
Otium Planning Group team members have delivered feasibility studies for two major projects that have been allocated funding as part of the initiative – the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (allocated funding of $46 million) and the Traralgon Indoor Sports Stadium redevelopment (allocated funding of $17 million).
