Project Description
Otium Planning Group, in conjunction with Conrad Gargett, developed a 20-year vision/Master Plans on two key sites for Logan City Council (LCC).
These Master Plans enabled a co-ordinated and strategic planning approach for the future provision and development of optimally planned sport and recreation infrastructure at these sites to meet the current and future needs of established and emerging communities.
Cronulla Park Sports Master Plan
Cronulla Park was identified in the Springwood CBD Master Plan as a key Community and Sport & Recreational/Open Space connector site that links key green, transport and circulation infrastructure features of the city.
The design response integrates key urban design features with the functional requirements associated with accommodating PCYC, OSAC and Allied Health facilities, with a two-field AFL club and a variety of public park amenities. Dynamic, high quality and connected public spaces seamlessly connect all these functions. Originally used as a dump up until 1982, research and collaboration with contamination experts have informed the design response in this context, in the redevelopment of the park.

Lowe Oval Master Plan
Lowe Oval was identified in the Springwood CBD Master Plan as a key Community and Sport & Recreational/Open Space Hub with significant importance in providing high quality amenities into a higher density urbanised fabric surround.
The design response resulted in dynamic, high quality and connected public spaces, activated by redeveloped and optimised Aquatic, Health & Fitness Centre, Library facilities and a variety of public park amenities. The public domain created enables an exciting mix of use options and community events to occur independently or concurrently. Significant vehicular circulation/ parking issues were seamlessly resolved, whilst optimising the long-term potential of the site.
