Otium Planning Group (OPG) would like to commend the Victorian State Government in its recent funding initiative as part of the COVID-19 stimulus program.
As Kate Maddock, Managing Director of OPG has raised in a range of messages over this COVID-19 ‘Business as Unusual’ journey, SPORT and RECREATION provides us all with great opportunities for social inclusion and now with greater government investment, will contribute to the state’s and nation’s economic recovery.
As a direct stimulus the Government recently announced the $2.7 billion “Building Works” package designed to support shovel projects to help generate more jobs and help people get back to work.
As part of this state funding package, the Victorian Minister for Community Sport – the Hon Ros Spence MP has also launched the $68 million “Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program” that will fast track investment into “shovel ready” sport and recreation infrastructure projects across Victoria.
Grants of between $1 million and $10 million are available for projects that are shovel ready and “make a real difference to local communities, especially initiatives that open up more participation for Active Communities”.
Kate notes that submissions are open now and close on Friday, 19 June 2020. OPG has assisted many projects with successful funding applications. If you need assistance with your project funding application please contact us at info@otiumplanning.com.au or phone 03 9698 7300.
