Project Description
A joint project between the Tableland Regional Council and the National Trust (Qld Branch) to develop a master plan for the Atherton Chinatown and Post Office Art Gallery. The aim of the project was to provide Tableland Regional Council with a possible location for a Visitor Information Centre, which would be located within a regional tourism destination, Atherton Chinatown.
Multiple workshops were conducted with the steering committee to determine the needs and desires of both clients and another key interest group. These included short term goals, management possibilities and long term region wide possibilities.
Otium team members developed multiple master plan options for deliberation with the steering committee and a desired option was selected, combining features of both options. The findings and Master Plan were presented to Tablelands Regional Council as a potential location for a new Visitor Information Centre and Regional Tourism Destination.
