Project Description
Otium was appointed by the Latrobe City Council to undertake a Feasibility Study to guide the future design and operations for the for the redevelopment of the Traralgon Sports Stadium.
Our work included:
- Feasibility Study and Needs Assessment for the upgrade.
- Identification of the components and facilities to be included in the stadium, based on a comprehensive consultation process to understand the needs of the community and to ensure the world’s best practice was delivered where practical and possible.
- Identification of design issues to ensure functional and operating imperatives addressed, and ongoing design advice.
- Social and economic modelling.
- Ongoing business and operational plans and operating costs.
The $19M upgrade was completed in 2020 and the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium is now a major multi-sport facility for the Latrobe community. It comprises eight courts catering for netball, basketball, badminton, dodgeball and other indoor sports, including a world-class show court with 3000 spectator seats complete with big screen and surround sound speakers for a full stadium experience.
