Project Description
Melbourne Victory Football Club appointed Otium Planning Group to develop and prepare a project prospectus and funding submission to Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) as a partnership funding submission for the development of the $17.895M Melbourne Victory Junior Football Academy at Footscray Park.
Based on the submission, The Victorian State Government has since committed $10M to assist in developing the home of Melbourne Victory’s W-League as well as its Academy squads.
The facilities, which will be located at Maribyrnong’s Footscray Park as well as Robert Barrett Reserve will provide the club’s women’s and Academy programs with world class training and playing facilities less than 5km from the Melbourne CBD.
The project directly contributes to meeting demand for increased participation in football at all levels, expanding female participation in football, building better communities, social networks and healthy civic activity and increasing liveability in the Western Metropolitan Region.
